Cultured Pearls
Die Band Cultured Pearls hat nach zehnjährigem Schaffen ein Best of Album veröffentlicht. Wir wollten die Gestaltung sehr von dem Stil der alten Cover abgrenzen, da ein Best of Album so etwas wie einen Abschnitt darstellt und dem Käufer als Sammlerobjekt angeboten wird.
Tragende Stilmittel des Artworks sind die aus farbigem Transparentpapier ausgeschnittenen Formen, Buchstaben und Fotos, welche die handgemachte Musik visualisieren.
Um jedes Produkt voneinander zu unterscheiden, bekam jedes seine eigene Farbkombination. So besteht die Dvd aus gelben und roten Papieren, die Cd aber aus grünen und braunen Papieren.

Después de diez años de trabajo, el grupo musical Cultured Pearls saca un albúm con "lo mejor de". El concepto visual difiere considerablemente del diseño de las carátulas anteriores, porque un albúm con "lo mejor de" cierra un capítulo de la historia del grupo y funciona como objeto de coleccionista.
La idea visual se crea a partir de las formas, letras y fotos, recortadas en papel transparente coloreado. Estas formas orgánicas representan el estilo "hecho a mano" que tienen la banda de hacer música.
La diferencia entre los distintos productos se crea proporcionando a cada uno distinta combinación de colores. Así, el dvd es amarillo y rojo, el cd verde y marrón,...

Cultured Pearls
Ten years after its foundation, the band Cultured Pearls released a "best of" album. The visual concept differs considerably from the design of the old covers, because a "best of" album marks a chapter of the bands history and can emphasize its function of a collectible.
The visual theme is created from the forms, letters and fotos, cut out of colored transparent papers. Their organic shapes represent the "hand crafted" style of making music of the band.
To make a clear difference between the different products, each product received its own color combination. The Dvd is yellow and red and the Cd green and brown.
